Description

In "BAS LES MASQUES", Young Albert and Jopo de Pojo face each other in a tense and mischievously theatrical scene:
Stripped of all background and typography, the composition focuses exclusively on the interaction between the two characters: their gestures, their precarious balance, their attempt at revelation. Here, the graphic interplay becomes almost a metaphor, that of a clear line style tested against its own conventions.

This stripped-down version offers a more introspective homage to the Franco-Dutch clear line style of the 1980s, isolating its iconic figures from any narrative context. The confrontation becomes a suspended moment, where the legacy of Chaland and Swarte is evident in the precision of the line, the elegance of the forms, and the contained tension of the scene.
A deliberately understated and demanding interpretation, conceived as a collector's item, giving full rein to the drawing and its evocative power.

Technique & Materials

Technique : 12-colour giclée art printing, pigment inks for intense colours, rich nuances and optimal fidelity to original details with exceptional depth.

Support: 250gsm archival paper, matte, natural white and uncoated, offering museum-quality results. Acid-free: pH above 7 to prevent yellowing over time, this paper is FSC certified for enhanced durability.

Framing: Prints on flexible media are sold unframed. They are designed to be framed with a mat, which should be adjusted according to the print size and the type of frame chosen.

Durability: Excellent resistance over time, under normal exposure conditions.
