Description

This work offers a graphic reinterpretation of the Pont Saint-Martin, an iconic Strasbourg landmark known for its 16th-century tannery suspended above the Ill River. The historic architecture here becomes an anchor point for a composition built around lines, volumes, and visual rhythms that intersect and overlap.

Neither strictly descriptive nor illustrative, the image breaks free from realism to explore a sensitive memory of the place . Geometric shapes, contrasts, and plays of depth convey a shifting perception, where past and present coexist in a free graphic style.

Part of the Retrographies series, this work is part of an approach that questions architectural heritage through a contemporary lens. Each piece acts as a trace, a visual reinterpretation of places steeped in history, designed to engage with the space and the collector's perspective.

Certificate of authenticity

Each artwork in the Empreinte Edition comes with its Bl.é Art certificate of authenticity , filled out, signed and stamped by hand, and completed with the artist's fingerprint. The certificate is affixed to the back of the artwork.

The certificate specifies the title of the work, the technique, the support, the dimensions, the year of creation and the number in the series.

Technique & Materials

Technique : High-definition direct digital printing, carried out on the front and back of the substrate . This double printing creates an optical depth effect , playing on the alternation between sharp planes and diffuse and colored backgrounds, and enhances the readability of complex graphic compositions.

Support: 6 mm acrylic glass , selected for its rigidity, transparency and ability to reproduce the contrasts and visual structure of the artwork.

Back protection & finishing: The back of the artwork is protected by a PVC plate , ensuring better stability, durable protection of the support and a neat finish.
The hanging system is fixed directly onto this layer, ensuring a reliable and respectful installation of the artwork.

Hanging system: Artwork delivered ready to be installed, with two professional adhesive fasteners attached to the back, adapted to the weight of the support for simple and secure fixing.

Durability: Excellent resistance over time, under normal indoor exposure conditions.
