Description

TOMI U pays homage to Tomi Ungerer, a major figure in Alsatian illustration , whose work oscillates between incisive humor, graphic impertinence, and a critical view of the world. This piece is part of the Remixed Homages series, a contemporary reinterpretation of significant cultural figures, where portraiture becomes a field for formal experimentation.

Designed specifically for the EMPREINTE Edition, this version emphasizes the materiality, rarity, and physical presence of the artwork. The interplay of planes, the density of forms, and the visual construction find enhanced expression here, offering a deeper interpretation.

Certificate of authenticity

Each artwork in the Empreinte Edition comes with its Bl.é Art certificate of authenticity , filled out, signed, and stamped by hand, and completed with the artist's fingerprint. For rigid supports, the certificate is affixed to the back of the artwork.

The certificate specifies the title of the work, the technique, the support, the dimensions, the year of creation and the number in the series.

Technique & Materials

Technique : High-definition direct digital printing, applied to both the front and back of the substrate. This double printing creates an optical depth effect, playing on the interplay between sharp areas and diffuse, colored backgrounds, and enhances the readability of complex graphic compositions.

Support: 6 mm acrylic glass , selected for its rigidity, clarity and ability to reproduce the contrasts and visual structure of the artwork.

Back protection & finishing: The back of the artwork is protected by a PVC plate , ensuring better stability, durable protection of the support and a neat finish.
The hanging system is fixed directly onto this layer, ensuring a reliable and respectful installation of the artwork.

Hanging system: Artwork delivered ready to be installed, with a professional adhesive fastener on the back , adapted to the weight of the support for simple and secure fixing.

Durability: Excellent resistance over time, under normal indoor exposure conditions.
